Pray for Bangladesh

flag.jpgBANGLADESH is the seventh most populous country in the world with more than one hundred and fifty-six million people. It is a Muslim nation and sharing the gospel is prohibited by the government.

Our church in Bangladesh is turning 15 this year and following is a report from them:

Our church in Bangladesh has about 100 members meeting in two locations: Chittagong and Rangamati City. We also have small groups scattered in 7 cities around Bangladesh and in 2010 we will start an outreach in the capital city of Dhaka. Most of our members are Muslim converts. We have a leader who was a former member of an Islam extremist group and who is now leading our campus ministry with three small groups with around 18-20 regular youth attendees.
Before when people get saved they still have the fear of rejection and persecution because the government strictly prohibits the spread of Christianity. But now change is taking place, we as a church strives to become more relevant to the people and the culture and the way we share not the religion but the love of God for all of us.
